Attention Juniors: The SAT (Maine High School Assessment) is on May 3, 2014 at Sacopee Valley High School. This is a mandatory test and a graduation requirement! Breakfast and snack will be provided.

Things you should be doing to prepare:
- Try the SAT question of the day
- There are also practice tests on College Board's website that you can use to prepare
- Take advantage of My College Quick Start which every sophomore who took the PSAT in 2012 has access to
- Visit the SVHS library and the Guidance Office where you can check-out official SAT study guides!
What you need to bring to the test
- ID (ID Requirements)
- Admission ticket (will be sent to you by mail)
- Acceptable calculator (Calculator policy)
- Two number 2 pencils (not mechanical)

- For every correct answer, you earn 1 point
- For every incorrect answer, you lose ¼ point
- For every question you do not answer, you do not lose any points
Taking the test
Guidelines from Collegeboard.org
- All questions count the same, so answer the easy questions first. The easier ones are usually at the beginning of the section. The exception is the critical reading section, where questions are ordered according to logic and organization.
- Make educated guesses if you can rule out one or more answer choices for the multiple choice questions.
- Limit your time on any one question.
- Be sure to fill in the entire circle on the answer sheet
